Satyanand is a Chemical Engineer having 23 years of professional experience. He started his career as a Technology Development Scientist after graduating from Indian Institute of Science. He had been associated with Petrochemicals, Specialty/Fine Chemicals and Pharmaceutical industries during his professional journey. His latest stint has been with SABIC Technology Centre, Bangalore. He has rich experience working across various functions such as Process Development, Process Engineering, Process Safety Design, Process Safety Management, Scale-up Engineering, Technology Transfer, Business and Operational Excellence.

Satyanand’s core expertise is in the areas of Process Safety, Design of Inherently Safe Processes, Process Safety Management, Chemical Process Synthesis, Scale-up Engineering, Quality by Design, Quality/Safety Risk Analysis and Process Intensification.

He is a Certified Lean Six-Sigma practitioner and is well versed with Six-Sigma and DFSS tools. He is a certified DuPont Safety Management Professional and had worked as a central PSM coordinator for one of the organizations, for more than 3 years.

He with his teams had in the past 23 years involved in process design and technology transferring of at least 80 (part or total) commercially viable chemical technologies and was involved in operational excellence projects that brought savings of more than Rs. 1000 million. His major achievements include a.) Development of a new process for the production of Vitamin B3 and its successful application on the commercial scale. The new process modified the old process running for 25 years and improved the overall economics by at least 15%. b.) Innovation and development of a commercially feasible, unique,
generalized and dream-economic crystallization process for various dicarboxylic acids, a breakthrough in crystallization research. c.) Development of Stage-gate process for new product development of APIs, Overall Plant Effectiveness (OPE) enhancement strategy and Daily Delivery Performance Tracker as part of excellence in process development as well as manufacturing..
