Thirumalainathan is an Electrical Engineer by training and has over 35 years of rich experience in the core domain of managing Fire & Safety  department involving Technical, Administrative and Management tasks in Indian Navy, a large Chemical Process industry,  Dyes and Intermediate manufacturing plants, a Heavy Engineering Plant, a huge pharmaceutical industry and Research & development laboratories. He had worked in both Executive and Managerial positions.

Nathan’s core expertise lies in Process Safety Management especially in the areas of PHA and Incident Investigations. He has been a master trainer for Industrial Safety, PHA and Safety Risk Management.  He has also got expertise in reviewing plans, drawings & Cause and Effect matrices for fire detection and fire protection system with codes, standards and practices, inspection of buildings, structures and temporary site facilities during partial and full completion for complying Fire & Life Safety Codes and Standards. He is well versed with NFPA codes and guidelines.

His major achievements include a.) Revolutionising, developing and implementing novel practices for industrial fire detection and fire protection systems without compromising on codes and standards b.) Playing a key role in comprehensive implementation of Process Safety Management across an organization c.) Guiding teams in deriving the right causal factors, proposing and implementing CAPA effectively for various incident investigations cases.
